Organization Background<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Katlo Development Centre, registered under number (190-315NPO), is located in Jericho Village, Hebron, Moeka Village, Letlhabile (Brits-North West Province, South Africa), and Soshanguve Township. Established in April 2014 as a community-based organization, its members recognized the need for poverty alleviation programs, gender-based violence interventions, and health improvement services. Observations and informal interviews revealed a significant number of unemployed youth and women facing daily poverty challenges. In 2016, the members convened discussions to address this pressing need. Consequently, in April 2017, they registered the organization with the Department of Social Development and began implementing Social Behavioral Change (SBC) Programs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Currently, the organization offers Victim Empowerment Programs, Psycho-social Support Services, HIV Testing Services, Skills Development, Economic Development Initiatives, and Awareness Campaigns, all under the sponsorship of the Department of Social Development (RSA). Katlo Development Centre operates within schools, clinics, police stations, and the communities of Madibeng and Moretele District Municipalities, as well as in Gauteng, specifically Tshwane North Municipality in Mabopane and nearby areas. The center is dedicated to addressing social, health, and economic challenges, providing empowerment and developmental support programs aimed at enhancing the lives of community members for the greater good.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    The organization has a managing board consisting of five members who oversee and deal with all policy and legislation issues. They decide on major administrative matters and oversee major developments; facilitate and guide its strategic plans and operations.<\/p>

    There is a management committee consisting of the Programmes Director, 2 Social Workers, Admin Officer, Financial Officer, M & E Officer, Communication and Marketing Officer and Social Auxilliary Workers to deal with the day-to-day administrative and managerial matters. The Programmes Director leads and manages all programmes and projects within the organization, whilst the admin officer does all the administrative duties. The finance officer is therefore responsible for the organizations\u2019 finances and book-keeping. The social workers similarly executes their psycho-social support services, group work, facilitation services as well as supervising the social auxiliary workers and the rest of the team. In addition, they are also responsible for Monitoring and Evaluation processes.\u00a0<\/p>

    The social auxiliary workers executes their duties of containment, basic counselling, facilitation, awareness campaigns and supervises lay counsellors and volunteers. The latter are responsible for conducting preventive and awareness campaigns, assisting on economic initiatives and group work. The security officer takes care of the premises and ensures safety and security to the property and the organization\u2019s assets.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
